The patterns

1.What threads do you use for your patterns ?

All my patterns are coded for DMC, but some also have the Victoria Clayton silks equivalents.

If you prefer to use Anchor, Venus, or other threads there are free conversion tables available online, or on suppliers websites.

You can also just send me a note and I will try to help you find the right thread equivalent.

2. Are the patterns in color ? Black and white ?

The patterns are in color, black and white symbols, or other format depending on the style of the design.

I changed software several times through the years, so the newer charts are always an improvement on the previous ones.

3. I found a mistake !

Mistakes will happen, if you find one please let me know and I will change it on the pattern and send you a new corrected PDF file.

4. Can I change the recommended colors ?

You can of course change and adapt the colors I list to fit your personal taste, and interior design.

If you find that some of the colors don't seem right together, or are too similar let me know. I always appreciate receiving feedback and opinions from you, especially since I cannot stitch every single pattern I have for sale.

And remember to send me pictures,  I love to see photos of finished pieces.

5. I can't open the PDF files

If your computer cannot open the PDF files you can download Adobe reader for free here : http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/

6. Can you send me a printed copy ?

I will only send paper copies on a ' Special case ' basis, and the buyer has to agree to cover shipping.

7. Where can I buy your patterns?

Most of my patterns are for sale on ETSY.

8. I want to purchase a pattern that is not available on ETSY

Some of my older patterns are not listed on ETSY. If you send me an email with the name of the pattern you would like to purchase, I will create a listing for you, or send you an invoice via Paypal.

1. When will you answer my Email ?

I check my E-post at least twice a day, and will usually answer right away.

If I am not able to answer your question right away, I write and let you know that I got your mail and when you can expect to get the reply.

Please take note that I live in Norway and consider the time difference from where you live.

1. Can I sell an item I made from one of your patterns ?

You are welcome to sell your finished embroidery, or crochet items made from my designs.

I would appreciate if you would let the buyer know that the pattern came from Roland-designs, and share the link to my site.

But do remember that you are not allowed to sell the PDF files/ patterns, or share them via email, blogs, etc..

2. What is the Public Domain ?

The Public Domain is how you classify creative works  that are copyright free, or whose copyright has expired.

Most books, etc.... that were published prior to 1925 are in the Public Domain, but different laws apply to different countries so double check the laws of the country you live in before using something from the public domain.

3. Are Roland-designs charts are in the Public Domain ?

The antique patterns I work from are all in the public domain, and I only work from items I actually own.

But the re-charted patterns are my own property.

All the patterns I offer on the site represent hours of work to chart, and make into a digital file, choosing the thread colors, photos, etc... so please respect my work and do not sell, share or reproduce my PDF files, and patterns.

 

Privacy Policy

1. Is Roland-designs GDPR compliant ?

Your privacy is important to us! We do not store or share your personal information.

All personal information made available during a purchase is only used for the actual transaction, such as communications regarding your order, shipping of your item and accounting purposes.

Signing up to our quarterly newsletter is voluntary, and you can easily unsubscribe at any time.

Our newsletter is sent with mailchimp, and you are protected by their security policies.

Roland-designs believes in transparency, so you are welcome to see all documents related to your purchase.

 

Crochet items

1. Can I order a finished crochet jewelry item ?

I no longer take custom order for crochet jewelry.

2. Do you take custom orders for filet crochet ?

Unfortunately I cannot take custom order for filet crochet items.

But I would be happy to assist you , and answer any question if you would like to undertake such a project yourself.

 

Other questions

1. Do you buy antique patterns, samplers, needlework ?

I buy vintage and antique/vintage needlework, books, patterns, samplers, cookbooks, etc...

Send me an Email with a photo of the item you would to sell, I will let you know if I am interested, and the price I am willing to pay for it.

2. Can you design a sampler for me ?

At present I do not take custom order.
3.What is the name of the painting used on the Roland-designs site and patterns ?

The painting is called 'Stitching the Standard', and is a painting by British artist Edmund Leighton ( 1852-1922)
